Proposed: Commercial Light Industry and Storage Sites at Star Lake
Letters of Opposition sent to Manitoba Parks

We would like to add our voices to the opposition of the development of a commercial light industry and storage site at Star Lake.
We have been cottagers at Star Lake for going on 5 years, and a cottage at Falcon has been in the family since the late '50s.
While we would not directly be affected by the proposed development, we view the entire Star Lake area as our area, not just the block we reside in. We sympathize with those that are affected.
The concerns raised of noise, safety and environmental impacts can not be emphasised enough or discounted.
The location of the proposed development will take away from the many wonderful reasons to be at Star Lake, which includes but not limited to trails for hiking, being with nature and away from the hustle and bustle of the City.
We understand that the commercial enterprises in the area require space to operate, however it does not and should not be in and around a cottage development.
We feel the proposed development would be well suited to the area at/around the South Whiteshell Transfer Station or on #301 just south of the #1 overpass where there was a garbage dump. The old dump road would provide access and it is not near any cottage development.
Regards,
Brian and Nadine Conn
